I know for sure that you keep all your files if you downloaded the zip and you over-write the folder in Windows. Windows' method for that is to over-write only the _files_ that have duplicate names. It leaves the folders untouched. Now, with the .exe, I _believe_ that it works the same way, but I have not tested it. With Mac and Linux, the only option is to get the zip, so that's not an issue (unless the person stupidly deletes their old myfiles folder, in which case they're screwed.) |
