On the one hand, it'll take a small miracle for me to get out there. On the other, if I can make it to Mysterium, I'm going to be trying to swing by that other state too anyways.

Mysterium is the end of July, so early August would get my vote.

So long as that's not on or about the weekend of saturday the 16th I may be available.  What manner of time frame?  A weekend event perhaps?

As for what we'd do, though I don't drink myself I'd be fine with carousing about with the gang.  Or we could assemble somewhere and play an rpg or three.  Or bash each other with sticks.  Or any combination of the above.  Probably not all at the same time though, for best results.
That's Portland, OR

Now that I have a job, I may actually be able to save up to head out there :P However I would prefer it not be in September...school and work is going to be one of those 'I cant get out of it' things.

Possible area: Greensboro! Greensboro has a few cool hotels, including a hotel that has meeting rooms. I'm sure we could get a group package somehow. this is greensboro north carolina, by the way. Close by in Highpoint is D.J.'s comic store, home to many roleplaying suppliments. There's also..MY HOUSE! Where I'm sure we can steal my ps2, and bring it back to play ungodly amounts of battlefront.

So yes. Consider near me, so I don't have to spend 500 dollars.

All the Locale suggestions I've seem to be on one coast or another.  Problem with a coast is there's only two, and there on opposite ends of the continent.  which means whichever one you pick to host this shindig is either gonna be in someones backyard, or a fuck of a long way to go.  I hear they have civilized parts in the middle america's, there abouts.  Yenno with buildings and roads and stuff.  Maybe even a hotel that would give good group booking rates, and be a reasonable distance for everyone to travel.

I realize that this kind of event isn't going to be able to satisfy everyones needs.  So i figure the trick is to satisfy as many as possible.  I myself live on the west coast, and am kind of against an east coast meet.  I'm sure easties feel the same way.

If the west coast were still being considered, i'd offer up my place.  I live in the mountains and the woods of British Columbia.  I've got a lot of privacy and a backyard the size of a foot ball field, surrounded by forest.  It'd be like an RPG camping thing.  And it would be convenient for me, and i won't charge camping fee's...unless you burn my house down.  :)

Well, as one of our apparently few midwesterners, something in the middle of the country would be nice, in my opinion.  If booze is the theme, Milwaukee is a terrific choice.  I could certainly try to make it elsewhere, and either coast would be cool, but my current finances make that prospect daunting, at best.

General OpenRPG con.  More mass membership, the better.
