I know of the MS-DOS prompt, i was but a wee lad when such technology was in full swinging. I had to use it in order to play MATHBLASTER or Learning Company games! then they make DOSSHELL and i didnt have to type!!! any more. for a child of 6-7 this is important! small children click into ideology of iconry... LITERLY!!!
So i forgot all commans. then I go to Mirc and that made me remember the existing of DOS. I (foolishly) use Windblows ME, which is like 98 but with different bugs.
I just read a essay/book thing by Neil Stephenson (he made Snow Crash and Diamond Age, good books) caLLed "IN THE BEGINNING... THERE WAS THE COMMAND PROMPT" where he talks about a lot of things, and compars OS's. You should read this, its good (read: funny / pointless).
