Wish I were a fly on the wall at your lecture. Better yet, wish I could be there in person. Tried to get work to send me to Telluride while FK was there but couldn't swing it. Would love to hear of his adventures there.
We have a cabin at Phantom Canyon; 8 miles from anyone or anything that staff can use. It hangs from the side of the gorge and looks directly across at a 1000 year old eagles nest that is 12 feet tall and has been used by 50 generations of eagles. Protecting that site is all I have to offer the future. The photo is me looking at them with binoculars. And yes, I'm still working with the Elders of many Tribes and, amazingly enough, finding my own voice being heard. It took 9 years for them to ask me for my opinion. Can they see it when I whisper in their ears? ~ only the burning future will tell. There are still so many good stories to tell and, lucky for me, good photos to shoot. Perhaps age does not make me wiser but it has clearly defined the things that I love - photography and conversation with good friends being high on the list. |
