We walk across a fractal landscape, hand in hand. Subject to chaotic whims, we stumble over cracks infinite in scope. Circumvent walls that extend not only as far up as can be imagined, but as far down as it is possible to travel. We try not to be separated, but a single wrong step and she is walking at right angles, or a trillion miles below, or underneath the concrete, here paws against the soles of my feet. One blink, and she's in the sunlight with me; another and she's where no line of sight exists. |
