The fundamental point behind our discussion here is that quality is NOT assumed to be a desirable trait in a product. This is why we're talking about experiments & justification. However, profit IS assumed to be a desirable trait.
These are the fundamental assumptions that underly our business attitudes.
...and businesses seem quite capable of LOWERING their quality, so why not raising it?
