You need to think about what components you actually want to break. I mean, there is software that can kill a hard drive, but they'll just give you a new hard drive. I'd suggest stripping the plastic off of a power cord, and randomly applying the exposed wires to various components on the motherboard. Sort of brush the wires around on the drives' IDE connectors, too. That should do it.

The warranty gives you credit to buy a new computer, rather than replace the old one??
