Scribble is not necessarily a team game... all of the attractions on snoot are designed to be playable by the transient web surfer. (that's one of the reasons why there's no java, logging in, client-side downloads, etc.) So though repeat players tend to want to make them into "team" games, it's important to understand that a lot of players will just play one or two words and leave forever. This is part of the game, and it's true on purpose.
My goal is to maximize the utility of snoot.org for the general public, not for the repeat (it's a lot easier to attract new visitors than retain old ones, believe it or not!) audience. If users start to feel uncomfortable playing words because they feel like they'll be yelled at for not making a "good" one, that is a VERY bad situation.
So -- encouragement is good if it helps people have more fun. But please don't get the impression that there's any "right" way to play the game! |
