What is a function and who are we to say? These questions can only be answered by the invocation of more fundamental, more primordial, more Gaian mathematics: the cosmic stew of logic in which we were birthed. But like Achilles, the flames of rationality have left us with an area of unbearable vulnerability. Our meta-reason is our mockery. Mankind's "base case" is one of violence and unending conflict. A _Base_ case indeed! (empahsis on base plz) If the heart has reasons that reason cannot know, then does reason have a heart that cannot reasonably be heartened?
Last night I slept clutching my Functional Analysis Text. There is no use for continuity in a world so cruelly jagged and interrupted. There is no use for functions in a world where hearts refuse to touch. |
