bitter old nergos like me miss windows 95/98--there were so many reasons linux was a better. it was so broken that ease of use was nullified by constant bugs. we always say "network effects" because the only reason we ran MS was bacause everyone else ran MS. if we could send todays linux apps to 1998 geez microsoft wold b totally sad and it wold be awesome.
now windows 2k/xp prolly mor stable than linux, mb mor secure, ms office sux just as much but it dosnt matter cause its monopoly. patent issues also seem to suk a lot more than back then
really the only reason that i hate windows is it always makes me sad when i want to program in windows because windows apis are always ugly not necessarily bad but always ugly
my last hope is that one day all non-americas will be like "gorge bush+bill gates sux so hard that i switch to linux/ whatever stupid open stuff i can find" and new european/asian/south american free software renaissance starts 2 rock
mean while america collapses into a north korea style tyranny--no trade, no software exchange with outsiders. we isolate ourselves with microsoft, non-metric, no bilingual, xenophobe, ashcroft tyranny, etc. until that regime collapses and is replaced by ROBOT POKEMON HIDING IN THE GRASS
so robopokemons for america, linux for everyone else is the ideal proxy furtur |
