"The Ur-Quan race does not believe in using tranltion software, and insted can be seen using geneticly enginered "Talking-Pets" to communicate with other races. Not that they need to use them much, seeing as their complex cultural history in space has lead them to the dogma that all other sentient life must be contained or distoryed. The Talking Pet actually displays a frightening level of psycic ability, an ability presumably designed into the race by the Ur-Quan. Based upon our own xenotech investigations of an Ur-Quan ship found near Arilu space, we have managed to directly translate some of the Ur-Quan conversations. Allthough these translations are not entirely accurate, our tech boys are rather convinced that the Ur-Quan hate the Talking Pets. Furthermore, based upon the medical and science resources on that ship and our knowlage of the Ur-Quan in general, it does not seem likely that the Ur-Quan would have had the biological know-how to build such a complex, psycic speces from scratch." |
