Stupid Internet is like "why don't snobby elitists respect my video games?" They don't respect our games because our games are basically poop.

Okay, I admit it, I want snobby elitists to care about video games because I want to see more snobby elitist high culture games! Yeah, I know, there are "art games" and "serious games". But those mostly focus on serious/high art themes rather than on mechanics and deep simulation. I want to see high art versions of The Sims, Dwarf Fortress or EVE Online! Yes, I know there would be no market for these things. I'm not even sure I would play them if they did, as I don't play any of the actual versions of the games I just listed, because I don't actually play video games anymore. That's not the point. I just want them to exist. Knowing that they existed would feel like...the world of platonic ideals made almost incarnate. Oh, yeah, while you're at it, they should program the whole thing in some variant of Martin-Löf Type Theory instead of that disgusting C++ thing those kids are still using. Yes! Finally! The Great American Novel as algebriac topology! As God Intended ALL SHALL LOVE IT AND DESPAIR!

Look, I'm not saying I would betray my moral values and country to force this thing to be made (not to actually make it, because, you know, hard) but constructing these kinds of awesome monuments that nobody but the builders and future alien archeologists understand is what God made autocratic command economies for (oh, whoops, I guess that's exactly what I am saying!)

I long for the day when High Art and High Math are one, when category theory will become a prerequisite for art history. When the machines rebel, I will take whichever side promises to make that happen, no questions asked.
