an infinate ammount of space given to the reply area? so insted of ... we just see them all?

this might be a pain for the longer threads though, as they would expand the layout of the main page to much.

a better idea which just occured to me was that we could also have a "latest post" feature which, insted of being on the last 25 page was build right into the post. between the message text and the replys field would be a good place for this. it would cite the last posted message, just like the way the last 25 oage does. in the event the thread has fractured, it would show the bottom of each thread with a reply (so if one message has more that one reply on the next "level" to it, they would only be counted as fractured threads if someone replyed to them both). if im not being clear tell me, becuase i think this could work.

Well, I didn't actually know about the "last 25" thing.

Silly me.

It would be nice to have the 'root' of each thread in the basic messageboard (as it is currently) and then a single 'zoom' link for each thread. This link would then show all the messages in that thread, in reverse order (latest first).

I like Rob's idea of showing the immediate parent of a post instead of all the posts at the same level.

FK.

Having played around with the "last 25" page, I still like the idea of zooming in on a root post to see all the replys in reverse order. It kind of distrupts the "train of thought" to just jump to the last post in a thread. Perhaps seeing the immediate parent as well would alleviate the problem somewhat.

Keep up the good work, Tom! The interface must be good, or so many people wouldn't be using it! =)

FK.

sence seeing you point it out, i have started using the last 25 button a lot more. its a lot more usefull tan i had thought, but I agree that just seeing the last post without the context of the post above itmakes it hard to see whats going on.

i really liked the idea of seeing all the messages getting placed on a page in order, maybe in the top bar where it has name and IP you should put "view thread" button, which then lists everything under it a'la the main oage. however, this could make seeing how the replyes work a bit of a challenge. i bet your uo to it though. i dont use the messageboard keenspace provides all its comic authors becuase i dont like it at all, i think this board layout is a very nice, clear way of organizing ideas.
