i guess we would have to first define what holding down menas. like most of out conversations, we tend to use some asumptions that we perhaps shouldnt. but i dont want this to veer off on another one of those "its all depended on you definition" venues again.
while being focused on the customer bespeaks of a better, more humain society, one that we certainly arnt living in, it remains to be seen if this would actually improve services or lower costs. Think about, say, a barber that you go to all the time for a period of years. you talk, and you come to know another reasonably well in a semi-professional way (i.e. he is being chatty but professional [insofar as that _is_ professional for a barber] way). yet, still, every time, you pay the same price for the hair cut thats posted on the wall. the charging is not seen as something optional or waved on occasion for a friend.
wait, of lost my train of thought. not thinking in a month or 2 will do this...
give me a bit, i will try and come up with a way of painting myself out of this corner.
