More than just my loneliness, though it is definitely there. She needs help. She needs the help that I never got, the friendship I never had - except from her. It's a very trying time for her, to the point of self-destruction. And she claims I help... I don't see how, but she claims I do, and what kind of monster would I be if I turned my back on her? I wouldn't be alive if it weren't for her.
So I deal with the hurts and I accept that she doesn't feel for me what I feel for her, and I know she'll find someone else to fill the place I'm not fit to occupy, and I'm trying to be her friend anyway because once she would have done the same. If I have the opportunity to help just one person, especially one person who's worth it, how can I not?
And she really is a wonderful person. She really is worth it. |
