And who is this man in the mask in todays strip?Or is it a mask?Or is it a man at all?Today I was walking outside in the humid Virginia air amongst the sounds of cicadas in the tree and kids running after the ice cream truck driven by a guy who looks like he was in and eighties metal band and I thought about this.Who is this man?Yes when Andrea returns we will have the true answer but until then,Who is this man to all of you?
When I first encountered Andrea...

It had to have been October or November of 2000.Not much as changed since then but so much has.In my slow and sometimes grainy and dreary world that is a lifetime.I was on the Keenspot messageboard talking to people who liked action figure collecting and playing odd roleplaying games in costumes. Then Andrea came on the board one day advertising Last Cereal.I checked it out.It was not a comic it was reallity. The main character was in the same situation as I was at the time,I read the archives and reallized some guy thousands of miles away from where I live knew what it meant to say something with art any kind of art.
Some of the comics made me wander around my room smoking a cigarette and thinking about my own existence. Some made me feel the sorrow that only a special few of us,most of us here can understand because we are not brainwashed by every other stupid thing in my reallity.I started an all out attack on Keenspot for insulting such art.How could these idiots insult something so profound yet at the same time consider comics about lesbian woodchucks and ballerinas with laser guns great? It does not matter now.We know the truth. We look into our existence to ascend from it they simply ignore existence and are forever trapped in it.

Pain / Apathy.
Love / Sex.

Sleep.

Grey /
Perfect.
Infinite.
Absolute.

And when these days are done, the lives we bought with tears will give in love: a god, in fear: the pain; and we two will be as clouds, and as one.

so it is up and coming again.

lc has survived the move and the stress, the change in live and circumstances, the loss of this meaning in live the finding of another. it has actually survived a new coat of paint.

daring (or would you paint la sagrada familia in pink ?)

revolutionary... almost, but not quite: even glossy.

and also: it is working: after less strips than you can count using both hands it is actually strange to look at the old strips : the color is very suitable.

maybe because the horizon of the main character has moved on from black and white (mostly black to call a spade a spade) and has discovered new ways of expressing ambiguity?

Since M made her seemingly final exit I had thought you had nowhere else to go with L.C.--but the newest strip proved me wrong. Welcome back.

And balls to the "Sinfest" motherfucker. Escape continued it's reign of excellence with no perceivable relenting.

P.S Andrea, could you get Tom to look at making to board work from Opera? I get "Error ((0) internally aphid.cc:139): No program!" whenever I try to post. A small request, but important to me...

This used to be a board which flourished with the most insightful minds reading a webcomic out there.
Where are you?

Where are you Nosferatu, with your rage againist the system and the standards?

Where are you Frerekhan, in all your "poetry of solitude"?

Where are you Ginaniu, chased by your personal Joe Stupid?

Where are you Eurora, with your witty remarks and your visionary mind?

Where are you Veavidtpoh, dear friend disregarding some sick actions of my "2nd identity" ?

Where are you Robert Pfeifer, very first LC reader and mystic presence which led me to many esotheric discoveries?

I wait for you all.

For the slow updates: just a strip a week now, but it's gonna be two. On random days, of course. I still can't plan when I will be busy and when I will not... but know that I have been on this nighttrain for so long, and many hours at the window filled a whole notebook with visions and considerations I -must- translate into strips. There is so much to do. I need your support and your opinions.
Thank you.

I finally lay my eyes on this new Last Cereal board we have.I did read and vote for Beautiful Hotels.Sadly babelfish stopped translating right about the very end.Beautiful Hotels is very good.It gets into the characters external self but shows how environment and things people can influences the inner self.Even the most insignificant chore can put endless philosophical questions in somebodies mind.Even something like working at a factory that manufactures thumbtacks on an assembly line can be something that leads to endless questions and curiosity about the world around us and all the things we do not really know or do think we know for that matter.
