If you're talking about muddle, you have make sure the words reach the server before time runs out. Your browser won't keep track of the exact time, so it's not just a matter of typing them or even hitting 'enter' before the game ends, but the server really needs to receive the words. There are some good reasons that it works this way, but sometimes it means that the last couple seconds of the game can be a wash if you're on a slow connection. But, it happens to everyone!
