Hi all,
The help in playing I've gotten from a number of you has been & is greatly appreciated, but I have a few questions maybe someone can answer: -- is there a list of 3 letter words that are most helpful/useful in settng up trips? (I have the 2 letter word list) I try to set up with a word that takes more than an 's' to start or end, but probably miss words that would be better than what I'm using. -- when there are letters in triplicate in the rack, like 3 e's (especially vowels) is it wise to try to use 2 of them at once, if possible? Example: today, there were 3 o's up with some uncooperative consonents. I could have put down either go or goo in an out of the way spot, but wasn't sure which would be the better play. I thought goo would be better, to get a different vowel and perhaps a better consonant, but go is easier to build on. -- when you have 2 or 3 high score letters in the rack, like J, Q and Z, do you sacrifice one to try to get letters to help with one of the other high score letters? -- is there a list of words with the Q in them that do not need a U? I only know qaid, qat, qoph -- are there others? Thanks again for all your help, guys -- I was able to put down 'jonquils' today on a trip for 377 points, but I would never have seen it if I hadn't had your help and been able to watch you! (ok, so I'm bragging - but it sure felt good!). alpha/alice |
