Can somebody explain to me the logic of not using thee triple-word spaces in a game where the object is to get as many points as possible? The only advantage I can see is for those who want to make an 8-letter word. However, the odds of getting a higher score would seem to be better using all of the triple-word spaces since there aren't that many games with 8-letter words. My own personal preference is not to keep my nose in a scrabble dictionary looking for 8-letter words, but I know it's legal to do so and is everybody's right to do so. I like to test my knowledge of words and prefer to play without help. However, I'm flexible and if anybody can explain to me why the people who consider themselves to be superior players also seem to avoid the triple-letter words, I'll give it a try. Thanks for your input. |
