snoot is a sort of social experiment. Most of the games have no real well defined-goal; no winner and no loser. Think of scribble as a board in the middle of the park with pieces and a bunch of people around. Talk to them and see how the game should be played -- they know better than I do!

That's the beauty of it. You can play for your own individual glory or for the glory of the team. I've found some of the games where you try to maximize the teams points interesting and exciting, but I love it when people are playing for themselves and piss the group off. As you get better, you will realize that you can play for yourself as well as set people up for some good moves. However, people tend to get anal about it. Loosen up folks - it's just a game.
