Yes! Entirely agreed (and MFM is great). More generally, I think that it's great to follow Scrubby and BO with some sort of drippier or smearing effect. The thing with Scrubby and BO is that they are very clean, dry effects. They are kind of similar, actually. Basically they both accomplish their tasks by mucking with the time domain of playback in some way. So anyway, the results are very clear, clean, and dry, and so it can be nice to run that output through something that will introduce feedback or resonance or reverberation or echo or some sort of drippiness like that. One of my personal favorites is to chain together Scrubby followed by a pitch shifter (especially shifting down) and then followed by reverb, and send something rather sparse through that... |
