d'oh! Username again ;)

Second thoughts, ditch the sig storing. I normally customize them, and it'd be too much hassle to put that in the message box etc - much easier to hand type...

OK I've just looked through my Cookies in Internet Explorer (Netscape seems to hide them) and from what I can tell, the cookie is stored for the URL it was set by (host+directory), and is probably inherited for the rest of the site, eg, a cookie set at www.snoot.org will be inherited by www.snoot.org/toys/

I'm not sure, because all I have are text files, but that's how it looks to me.

This means that you may have to set the cookie in the root...

I'll take a look in the RFC for you

Right, I know they're set to only go to certain sites, but can I declare that my cookie should go to *.snoot.org? or both *.snoot.org and *.snoot.com? The entries in the cookie file for netscape seem to imply that you can (at least for the first one).
