hehe, I'm glad you enjoyed that. I dunno, I consider it cheating because:
1. If you're adept at playing that type of game, you can easily and repeatedly beat the 1st-place record for "conventional" games.
2. If it wasn't considered cheating, pretty much the only way to beat such a score would be to play the exact same game again and again, and hope for better tile order (you'll note I waited an exceptionally long time for the B... had it come quicker, I'd have easily reached 2200+ ). Where's the fun in playing OXYPHENBUTAZONE ad infinitum? :-)
All that being said, there's another thing that's never been done on this site, and I'd wager it'd be easier (just barely) to pull off than beating 1715 conventionally -- ready for this?
The Double 15-Letter-Word game.
You heard me. A game with two 15-letter words down the left and right-hand sides, respectively. It's definitely possible, though you'd need a very "fortuitous" tile order. My strategy would be to think of two words with relatively common tiles, so that they'd be more likely to appear quickly. Consider the following game:
http://archive.snoot.org/scribble/03.10/29.08.12.55-1845.html
I got the word INCONSIDERATELY at Word #16. That is insanely fast as far as 15-letter games go; usually the word appears in the high 30s or low 40s. One of the reasons this appeared quickly is because, except for the Y, every letter in that word has at least 4 tiles in Scribble. I might have been able to get a "double-15" in that game, but I just *had* to go for the Q and X on the DLS instead... hehe ;-)
No money for this, but you'd earn my utmost respect, and that's priceless! hehe :-)
