"You're just too arrogant to allow the possibility that someone can play differently with high-scoring results."

I don't believe that at all.  I feel the same way alpha does about those who, it would appear, make plays *only* to void others' plays.  And then don't respond to chats questioning why these plays are made.

You may be able to call it a challenge but I don't see how anyone would think it's fun to have set ups ruined.  And I'm not talking about when someone plays a word that isn't eight letters on a triple.  I'm talking about making it impossible for anyone else to try.  As has been said before no one has to adhere to the eight-letter set-up style of play but when plays are made seemingly for the purpose of messing with others' plays -- with no explanation of why (the absence of response to chats is what convinces me these players are malicious) -- is not fun.  At least not to me.

>> You don't have the only system which allows big scores <<

I beg to differ... for each triple-triple that isn't played with a full 8-letter (or greater) word, the "maximum possible score" literally drops by around 200 points.

Since the top scores are basically in the 1800s range, if you don't play any of the four trips fully, it becomes very difficult to score over 1000 points or so.

Show us a single game played considerably differently from the "expert" style that scored even 1200... 15-letter-games notwithstanding  ;-p

There is NO WAY these people are "setting up" for anything when they tack an S onto any word they make as soon as an S appears.  This DOES NOT MAKE for a challenge.  It merely RUINS games!  And I won't just "keep to myself."  I will make their game time as miserable as they try to make mine!
