I just wanted to add my two cents. As far as using the trips only for 8-letter words, I try to adhere to that as much as I can, but it can be frustrating to purposely avoid doing a perfectly good (and fairly high scoring) word down the side (and putting a premium on the dls) only to have someone simply add an "s" to mezquit the next turn. If I see trolls about, I'm often less patient.
