And by "them", I mean those people who bark at you in chat for any mistake you may have made on the board.

A few tips:

1. End the game. End the game if the chat has gotten negative.

2. Don't respond to their negative comments. They will only gang up on you and what's the point? Get back to playing.

2a. I'll make an exception here. Stick up for yourself for goodness sakes! I'm so tired of seeing people ~not~ respond back to the people who are doing all the barking and growling at other players. They say a lot of things to make themselves feel superior. They aren't.

3. Don't apologize for a mistake. Apologizing only feeds into their "gang" mentality. They don't like ANY play that they haven't pre-authorized. And most likely, you will be deemed a troll.

4. You are ~not~ a troll. They will call you one, oh sure. But, making a mistake happens and doesn't make everyone a troll (i.e. notice how they aren't trolls when they make a mistake or ruin a game they have deemed a lost cause ?). See #3.

4a. Also, they will think every bad move you make is done on purpose. This is not true, as beginners do make errors. Learn from the errors and move on. The world revolves around "them" (or so they would have you think), and you'll still be a troll, in their eyes, because every error is somehow a calculated play against whatever they have set-up.

5. Try enjoying yourself. It's a game. It's a cooperative game, so try your best amongst eachother.

But remember, making a mistake doesn't mean you aren't playing cooperatively (no matter what the others will have you believe). You are simply human. Be glad.

* Yes, there are some real trolls out there who make plays to ruin games.
