what does a cooperative game mean if you are playing the entire web. is this game not like scrabble. is it wrong to pretend you are playing scrabble, but not with 1-3 players, but with the whole web as your opponents. where does the phrase "cooperative word game" come from and mean? thanks for any help in clearing this up, so that future play can proceed without the sarcastic comments i sometimes see. THANKS!!!

Do you have any plans to alleviate the problems caused by game wreckers?

Are you familar with Crazyhouse? When you capture a pawn/piece, it becomes a pawn/piece of your own color. You can then later "drop" one of these pieces on any open square. Pawns cannot be dropped on the first/eight rank. Promoted pawns revert back to pawns when captured.
what's with the ^?

Well, I'm sure you are aware that the standard algebraic notation for promotion is = and not ^ (i.e. e8=q). What's with the ^? :=)
SICO updates

I made some more updates to SICO today.

Now you can choose what piece to promote your pawns to. (This will not be true of the current games, but will take effect in all new games.)

I also added a page showing the starting positions for each of the variations.

I fixed some of the variations I posted yesterday; these have yet to come up yet but you can now see them on the page above.
Still more SICO variants

(1) I've set up a board with SICO-like rules just outside my office. One variant that people seem to enjoy is a very minor change so that the back ranks are arranged as N-B-R instead of the familiar R-N-B.

(2) For years I've wanted to know what would happen if kirbies could take *other kirbies*, creating two separate "capture domains". OK, maybe they just wouldn't be kirbies any more. Maybe furbies, or tribbles, or something.
