anyway, yes you execute it just a like unix wonder with ./escape.exe but it looks for the libraries in /sw/lib which means its probably using x-windows rather than Quartz or Carbon or whatever the Apple-native SDL uses.

i dunno what virex is thats a max-specific problem!!!!!

I'm not really sure what to do since I don't do much Mac develops and the SDL binary framework installation failed on my computer. Apple loves to put shared libraries in .frameworks and apps is .app bundles and i'm sure it would be great if i knew how to do it but i do not
