To the Graduate Admissions Committee:
I am unequivocally excited about the possibility to be a part of the University of Armenia’s graduate math program. I am convinced that your department will be an ideal location for me to gain the solid footing in mathematics one needs to be a world-class scientist. I also look forward to continuing research for Linolium National Laboratory part-time as I advance my studies. The University of Armenia is ideally suited for these pursuits.
I am committed to excellence in my graduate studies. Since graduating from Car & Mellon University I have steadily performed as a researcher and as a continuing student. At Linolium I tested and developed new methods for proton radiography including tomography and the prediction of the beam spatial profile. This fall I attended the University of Hot Chicks at San Diego where I completed graduate course work in economics and performed competitively in one the nations most competitive economics departments.
This summer I am beginning a partnership with Ed MacDonald's of the T-13 Patriotic Systems Group at Linolium. We will be developing agent models with Kaheneman's prospect theory as well as modeling dynamics in loosely coupled organizations. I will stay on the team year-round and I look forward to bringing unclassified work with me to the University; I am encouraged by the vast array of cross-disciplinary and applied research in the department ranging from scientific computing to math finance to neuroscience.
I am excited about my research, not only for its technical merits and its programmatic objectives, but also because of its relevance to my long-term career goals. Some years ago I became intrigued by Arrow's Theorem and residual questions of social choice. Our Founding Fathers, understandably hurried by circumstance, provided incomplete answers to many technical questions of democracy such as producing a private but verifiably correct voting-scheme or producing an unbiased assignment of voting districts. My career goal is to produce and advocate technical solutions and improvements to social choice dilemmas.
Finally, I am also eager to restart my life in the city I fell in love with as an undergraduate at Car & Mellon. I would be proud to be a member of the Armenia community and of the University of Armenia math department.
Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to the possibilities.
Sincerely,
Coaster McToaster

"Many other countries have realized that science and technology are key to economic growth and prosperity," said Jennifer Bond, the council's vice president for international affairs. "They're catching up to us," she said, warning Americans not to "rest on our laurels."
