Maybe that's true. But sometimes it takes explanation to undo what popular culture teaches people about "art". (And sometimes, the agenda *is* the art.)

I agree. In my mind I had already discarded the uninspired photo-art. I did not count it art just because it was a painting. Only art, both realist and abstract, which carried meaning. 'Hooks', if you will.
