Although I have to say, 0magus, I CANNOT see the logic in bombing ethnically related people. What is the REAL cause of these attacks? It's NOT Osama bin Laden. Why does he have the attitude he does? What factors are involved?
Unavoidable: American attitudes and foreign policy have played a (not so indirect) role in shaping bin Laden! There are other factors, of course, religeon being a minor one, but my point is that if you want to hurt EVERYBODY responsible for this, you have to look closer to home.
From this far away, we see America as an amorphous entity. America seems to have taken Christian values to an extreme: right-to-lifers attacking people? Saying 'thou shalt not kill' does not mesh wil bombing the crap out of Afganistan. I know these apparent dichotomies are not that simplistic, but I personally would like America to show some moderation, and be hesitant (rather than forward) in taking military action.
