actually, i have to agree. Aphex Twin can make some mello tunes (like the Selected Ambiant Works tracks) and thats nice, but I think he took it to far. I mean, its REALLY ambiant music. Nothing wrong with that, but it just never really develops. Underworld has many dancible tunes, but they have gotten a bit slower with age, in a way injoy.

I had the trainspoting soundtrack. past the 2 underworld tracks though, its kinda dull. I mean, Iggy Pop? Its not bad, certainly, but its nothing new or hard.

I will keep an eye out for the bands you have mentioned, though my main vessle for new music is Hotline, and lately I have been placing more energy into downloading anime than music.

Its very hard to find good hiphop, but I am thinking its out there. Now if i could just find it. I was thinking about this just a minute ago: those of us who are really into a sceen will put up with crap music in that sceen, becuase we know what its all about, and we can see what the not-so-good music is trying to do, and respect that. but to an outsider, all they run into is the crap and "name of the minute" stuff, and conclude that the whole sceen is like that.

then again, i think i had my artistic tastes horribly horribly warped by "USA: up all night" which was a VERY latenight movie showing the USA channal used to do. they would pick movies because they were bad, and I mean HORRIBLY bad, and show them, becuase they could. I have seen so many crappy movies, that i just completely lost the ability to tell crap from good. hence my involvement in the crap art movement: when you cant tell whats good or bad you can make good and bad meaningless. thus, tom7's albums in a day sound about as good as whats on the radio, and i like the lyrics better. this dosent mean i have no taste, it just means my tastes are so broad as to be meaningless.

whoah, that was quite a tangent.
