Marc, the 4-state switch sounds like a good idea...  and yeah, I'd love a prelim version to use - that would be amazing!

Don't want to get nabbed by the harvesters so I'll use your contact form.  ;-)

Monomaker is exactly the answer I need :) It's a huge file though, but looks nice, loads fast, and is tiny in its CPU demands, so I'm happy.

I like your idea for the four-state switch. I also suggest a phase invert option on each channel as a possible Good Thing. AnalogX made one of these, mainly cos Cakewalk 9 didn't have one, but I suspect that it's exactly the kind of problem that someone might reach to Monomaker to solve, and it's probably more efficient if it can, as well as easier, than to run two plugins to solve these things.
