Mike - (if this wasn't the king, forgive me, but it sOOOOOOunds like Mike ;-)
WebTV is not a cheap computer, it is an online service and ALL of our online activites go through ONE mainframe in California -- it doesn't matter if we have our own ISP, which is some cases we are forced to do. I have had both direct MSN dial-up (currently) and a seperate local dial-up and I show up the same on these boards with either option. Only, it is not an option with WebTV; we cannot pick and choose proxies like you can on your computer.
We are well aware of the limitations of our service --lol, and find out on almost a daily basis of more limitations! As alpha said, it is better than nothing; and much to my kids' chagrin - I wouldn't trade it for a computer. I do more with my webbie than most people I know do on their computers (not CAN do, but actually do).
As for your last comment, well... I don't have exactly the highest opinion of folks who can't honestly look at the troll activity on these boards and see beyond their own biases.
