I forgot to say; I don't think the President is a very good parallel because he is an elected official, which the majority of citizens did NOT vote for(if you combine the people who voted for the loser, did not vote, or are too young to vote). The Pope, on the other hand, is forced onto people, and although he can tell people what they SHOULD do, and what they SHOULD believe, he doesn't have laws to back his ideas up, or armies, navies, air forces, and departments such as the FBI to back those laws up.
I'm not sure what my point is here. . .but nobody cares when the president gets made fun of by Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien, Will Ferrel, or anybody for that matter, unless it's a president like JFK or Lincoln, who were not only great presidents, but were assassinated(although that wouldn't stop Craig Kilborn. ..I hate Craig Kilborn). |
