Voting thing doesn't work
[719] by "Anonomyus Man" (205.232.210.21.)   on Fri 05 May 2000 08:25:14     reply ]
As I understand it, the point of the voting system in scizophrenic/collaborative fiction was to STOP offensive and stupid storylines. This is obviously not the case, as if you read the story of the Doctor Azul section, you
'll see that it involves the Pope being evil and trying to kill the main characters.

THE POPE. THIS IS THE MOST OFFENSIVE THING I HAVE EVER SEEN. Attempts to change the storyline into making it a "fake" pope(which were my own) were shot down.

Obviously, these people are not intentionally trying to be offensive--but they are as$holes.

Please delete the story, or discontinue it or something--after all, I don't go around trying to put Martin Luther King Jr. into the story as an evil character. Or Martin Luther(the original protenstant reformer, in case I got the name wrong), for that matter.

Why don't you just approve the storylines your self--maybe twice a week--along the same lines as the voting(you look over all the choices and pick the one you like most), so that offensive and stupid crap will actually be blocked, and so that the same two or three authors don't get their input chosen every single time(get a little variety into it).
SICO Draws

How do you accept a draw? Do there have to be a certain number of offers in a row?

Hey Tom 7, what is the adress of your old AOL site. You know the one with "How to break your computer" on it and such? Maybe you should link to that, or copy all of the zany stuff from it onto Snoot.

And whatever happened to Lunus, or whatever that RPG you were programming was?
Snoots Saved?

I remember that on the old version of Hangsnoot, the main page kept a running tally of Snoots saved -- a status indicator for the movement. I'd like to see this feature return, I hope my efforts are not for naught.

I'd like to get in touch with the people who created the site.
I could not find any information on the site itself.
I can be reached at pjuton@yahoo.com, I am in Southern California.
Thanks in advance for dropping an email.

Bowser SICO

By the way, after reading the Kirby explanation, I got to thinking of other Nintendo characters that could be put into SICO. I've been playing alot of Super Mario World, so...

Bowser: Used instead of the king. Can only move from side to side. May choose to add two pawns into the game whenever there aren't any pawns left.

Yoshi: Like a knight. Can capture by normal means or by "eating" an adjacent piece. The "eating" will be the entire move for that turn, so Yoshi stays in the same place.

These will probably make the game too confusing, but they sound kinda neat.
Search Engine

I was going to ask what a kirby was, but after scrolling enough of the message board, found out on my own. Whenever I want to post, I always try to check and see if my question has already been answered.
I think that having a search engine on the message board would help make that easier. The search engine would also be good for find your list of things to do (which should be linked to from the mainpage) and my favorite binary fiction nodes (the one where the robot ends up in hell after eating fruit).
And what is amortized cost anyway?

I noticed that if someone from your host writes a new part for collab-fiction then you can't vote on it. Shouldn't this be changed, so that more than one person at a school or cybercafe or more than one person in a household can write/vote, and same with SICO and scribble?
