Tom: ending games

Hi Tom,

Still love this game, but I have a request. When there's no more words possible but letters are left, it sometimes takes awhile to get enough non-webbies to click on 'no words possible' to end the game.

In the back of my mind I'm thinking it takes 6 players to end a game upstairs. Would you consider lowering that number to 4? I won't ask for any lower than that, because too many games would be ditched as going nowhere (IMO), but 4 would be just about right.

Thanks!

Oops. sorry gang, I was trying to communicate with a fellow HANGSNOOT player. No names or chat available on that game, so I gave myself a name he might recognize as me. BadPenny

I have tried every game board tonight and all are locked up. Is there something wrong or is anyone else having this problem?

Triple Spaces

Can somebody explain to me the logic of not using thee triple-word spaces in a game where the object is to get as many points as possible?  The only advantage I can see is for those who want to make an 8-letter word.  However, the odds of getting a higher score would seem to be better using all of the triple-word spaces since there aren't that many games with 8-letter words.  My own personal preference is not to keep my nose in a scrabble dictionary looking for 8-letter words, but I know it's legal to do so and is everybody's right to do so.  I like to test my knowledge of words and prefer to play without help.  However, I'm flexible and if anybody can explain to me why the people who consider themselves to be superior players also seem to avoid the triple-letter words, I'll give it a try.  Thanks for your input.
not webtv but same error

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the game, it's been endlessly entertaining since I started playing it in 97-98'. I am getting the same error complained of below (and I'm not webtv):
uncaught exception E_FILE: opena: Couldn't opena(write/append): /home/httpd/snoot-archive/scribble/05.05/20.14.27.52-658.html

Thanks!
