BBizsleepy is only on Muddle. :-)

you know, i couldn't understand why people like BB and AMBER would keep screwing up expert games.  but after playing there for awhile, i can understand.  if i've made TWO mistakes, as per deni, well frickin excuse me.  i just made my third, and laura was nice enough to explain to me what i had done wrong.  i'm not an ass kisser like some of you.  playing two words in a row is wrong.  saboteddy actually played SIX. so you few experts run to his defense.  but wrong is wrong, no matter how good you are.  it is supposed to be a co-op game.  there's more to this game than hitting 1800.

playing a game in expert right now and saboteddy has made the last 4 words in a row.  what's the deal?  he's not that good that he can carry a game alone.  if he wants to play with himself, let him find a corner.
I love this site because...

help questions

Hi all,

The help in playing I've gotten from a number of you has been & is greatly appreciated, but I have a few questions maybe someone can answer:

-- is there a list of 3 letter words that are most helpful/useful in settng up trips? (I have the 2 letter word list) I try to set up with a word that takes more than an 's' to start or end, but probably miss words that would be better than what I'm using.

-- when there are letters in triplicate in the rack, like 3 e's (especially vowels) is it wise to try to use 2 of them at once, if possible? Example: today, there were 3 o's up with some uncooperative consonents. I could have put down either go or goo in an out of the way spot, but wasn't sure which would be the better play. I thought goo would be better, to get a different vowel and perhaps a better consonant, but go is easier to build on.

-- when you have 2 or 3 high score letters in the rack, like J, Q and Z, do you sacrifice one to try to get letters to help with one of the other high score letters?

-- is there a list of words with the Q in them that do not need a U? I only know qaid, qat, qoph -- are there others?

Thanks again for all your help, guys -- I was able to put down 'jonquils' today on a trip for 377 points, but I would never have seen it if I hadn't had your help and been able to watch you! (ok, so I'm bragging - but it sure felt good!).

SICO Archives

Tom,

There is no SICO archive for 04.07/.

I'm surprised that the archive process doesn't create a directory if one is needed.  If that is too much trouble, perhaps games could be put into a default directory until you create the one the process expects.  At least that way no games would be lost.

As my partner in crime says, any game over 1800 deserves an egotistcal posting here!

i realize this is a "team effort" game, but it's too bad one or two of the games can't be made private for those who really utilize the team approach.  or maybe there can be a way to block the others.  i'm not sure.  but it sure is depressing when you are working on games and the same one(s) keeps screwing 'em up.
Scribble: Attention New Players and Lurkers!
[39039] by "beatnguexprt" (netcache-3003.bay.webtv.net)   on Sun 27 Jun 2004 17:45:23     reply ]
I keep reading that new people and lurkers are hesitant or fearful to play, due to the intimidation of other players (aka the wrath of the "experts").

Please remember that it's only a game (they have some witty comeback for this too).

Play and enjoy yourself. Ignore the mud slinging. There are those out there, who are not trolls, who enjoy playing and do so for fun (Go figure)! If you make a mistake, don't worry.  Play.

Don't assume that all players who make erroneous plays, do so on purpose.  Some of them, like myself, do not have (nor care to use) supplemental programs and lists.

Important: Some of us do not make mistakes on purpose to ruin a game. Making a mistake does not make everyone a troll or a person with some agenda to ruin the game.

I do commend those very few experts who offer advice in a friendly way. Thank-you to them.

Over and out.
