I've added a gallery of head shots of some of the Scribble regulars (plus one of Tom too... heh) to the expert guide, below the "other notable games" section. Right now there's only five regulars represented. If any other regs want to be up there, feel free to e-mail me with a pic. :-)

P.S. Thx for the extra directories, Tom |

Tom, in eight days, it will be July 1st. There are currently no directories to archive Scribble games past June 2004. Please add some, the more farther out into the future, the better. :-)
I'd hate to lose any future Top 50 games because they couldn't be archived. :-7 |

I had a idea which, if I understand your problem, might help you implement this feature. Whenever a pawn moves forward two squares, a 'ghost' piece should be put on the square the pawn passes over. The piece would exist only for one-half move, and would not be displayed. This would allow you to show en passant as a valid pawn move. Other pieces would need to ignore this 'ghost' piece. |

Twice today the system would not allow me to castle when it was a valid move. When I selected the King, the square two spaces away from the King was not shown as a valid move.
This happened in the vanilla variation game started Sun, 20 Jun 2004 (currently, this is game 3) at Black move number 7. And again, in the bounceshops variation game started Sat, 19 Jun 2004 (currently, this is game 5) at black move number 12. |

After knowing each other online for over six years (and literally thousands of Scribble games), Laura and I finally met each other in person today (6/19/04). Even though we live 250 miles apart, Laura's parents live near me, and she was up here (in New York) for Father's Day, so we figured why not meet for lunch. :-)
Anyway, we took the obligatory geeky picture of the two of us holding, umm... "appropriate" signs. The picture's not the best quality, but it's good enough:

I just couldn't resist showing this to everyone ;-) Maybe I can make a photo section in the expert guide of all the regulars so people have a face to put to the handles. Anyway, thanks Tom, for indirectly making this meeting happen. :) |
