I know of Philip Glass, and the rest sounds interesting. I have liked audio minimalism for a ling time. alsss, the american mainstream seems to be mostly angry white boys screaming about the same old shit that their parents did, pop groups singing about love in about the same terms its been sung about before, rappers mumbeling about god knows what, and sub-grouped based on combonations of those. thats just the mainstream, mind. we do get some good stuff here, its just hard to find admids the noise.
In audio Minimalism, hove you ever heard of The Future Sound of London? I firest ran into some ambiance with their CD "Dead Cities". I think Orbital is also nice, if a bit cheezy. And as I said, Aphex Twin can sound really mello is he wants to (then he eats your soul). So i guess their is good mosic out there, you jst have to find it. I still reccomend you give underworld a shot though. http://www.dirty.org has some of their live stuff which they have kindly made avalable for download, allthough I think the album work is better. |
