**Major** Scribble Bug!!
[30210] by "DeLorean" (pool-68-161-114-82.ny325.east.verizon.net)   on Sun 21 Dec 2003 02:50:08     reply ]
Tom, I've never seen anything like this in six years here... three of us were playing a game, and according to MJ, she played "b14d.oy", and it wound up at A2-Down!! That would be strange enough. Even stranger is the fact that the misplaced "OY" was not connected to any other tiles!!! I took a picture of the situation if you're interested:

I think I speak for all three of us when I say -- I'd really like to know what caused this bug, if you can figure it out... we haven't been able to duplicate it since, and doubt it'll ever happen again. It's just a really bizarre... thing.  :-)

Thanks, Tom...

Interesting Curiosities...

Hey guys & gals, just wanted to show off a couple of interesting Scribble games we've had recently. But first, I just wanna remind Tom to add more directories to the Scribble archives. There are only 12 days left until 2004...!! I worry that the games will become completely screwed up once it finds it can't archive them.

Anyway, the first game scored 1586 points, good enough for 16th place all-time. I know what you're saying -- big deal. But -- this was the first game in the history of snoot.org to have no S tiles in any of the 4 "triple-triple" words. This is much harder to achieve than it looks...

The second game is simply a [very] high scoring one, at 1624 points. This is currently 5th place all-time. Both of these games were played within the last week.

That's all. Thanks  :-)

I enjoy playing games 1-14 in Scribble. I stay far away from the "expert" games of 15 and 16.

Thanks Tom for creating these fun cooperative games! (I like muddle too!)

However, I notice a lot of players in games 1-14 being constantly ridiculed and berated for every move they make. Some people are *beginners* and I think a lot of people forget this when playing. Not everyone is a troll. Not everyone is out to ruin a game. The perpetual bad-mouth lecturing and name calling is turning a lot of people off.  I understand the game is cooperative, but some players are extremely over-the-top rude to other players when they make a word play that isn't *perfect*.

I referred a couple of buddies to this game and they couldn't believe how mean some people could be.

I hope I am not alone in feeling this way, but give the beginners a chance.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Thank-you,
Jay

p.s. I am weary of posting this message due to the inevitable attacks. Sad but true. As a webbie often says in the games, "Please, be nice." I agree. JJ.

Dear Mr. Seven,

If there's one thing muddle needs for Christmas, it's having the stats displayed for all the words you got, not just the words you didn't get.  So that way when you get a rarer, but not a new word you can still give yourself a thumbs up.

I hope you can do this for all the children out there because one day you'll be the next Santa, and we'll need to know we can depend on you.

thanks,

We didn't think it could be done, but the 1709 scribble record has been beat.

Yes, Mike (DeLorean) and I are crazy, obsessed and fanatical!!! We love this game.  Congratulations to MJ and Coral for being involved in this fantastic game too. :-))))))

Does anyone else think it's dumb that you can't en passant and one side can't castle?
Small reminder, plus more Ego Stroking! :-)

First, the ego stroking --

Word #40. Nuff said.  :-)

As for the reminder, Tom, remember to add more directories to the scribble archives (maybe other archives too) before the new year. Right now they only go up to December, 2003. Thanks.
