Heh - Marc, I think I'm misunderstanding you.  :-)

But I don't think we're talking about the same thing (then again, maybe we are).  I'm looking for an option to dial in the amount of left or right channel when the signal is monoed and still panned directly down the middle - no panning involved with the panning slider.

So for example (I'm using the win vst version here),  I have a stereo grand piano patch that I want to use in mono.  So I move the mono merge slider at the top completely to the right so it's 100% mono.  The pan slider underneath is still in the center because let's say that's where I want the signal for the moment.

At this point I have both the left and right channels merged in the center and I'm getting horrible phase issues and the piano sounds like crap - not at all like it would sound if it was recorded with only one microphone...

So now I'd like to lose the the right channel completely and have only the left channel playing, and yet still have it panned down the middle - phase issues disappear and now it sounds like it was recorded with one mic.  Truly monoed.

So ideally, you would have two more sliders (probably vertical sliders) that control the volume amount of each channel, and these would function separately from the panner - so you could dial in different levels of the left and right channel with the sound panned down the middle still - or panned wherever in the stereo field.

Another example would work like this - with the left channel volume up full and the right channel volume down completely, and the pan slider all the way to the right - you would have the left channel playing in the right speaker and the right channel totally off.

Does this make sense at all?  heh.

With the two extra left and right volume sliders, you could dial in whatever amount of the original left and right channels you wanted, and then pan THAT around anywhere in the stereo field with the panner...

That would be what I'm looking for.

And now that I think about it, your other weighted balance slider is probably exactly the same thing I'm talking about!!!

Shit.  Sorry about that.  I guess I'll wait and see then.  :-)

Do you have an estimated time of release or a ballpark date for the vst version?  The "AU very soon" and "vst will follow" could be next week, next month, or next year depending on how you look at it.  heh.

Just curious - working on an album right now, and it would be extremely handy to have at the moment.

But thanks for making such a great plug, and thanks for listening to me babble.

Cheers!  :-)
