Why can't someone on Webtv play against another Webtv user. Every time I try to play, I get the message that I can't play twice. I didn't even play once. Apparently the system cannot distinguish one Webtv from another. It is very annoying.

I did it. Much earlier than expected, too -- a couple of months ago, I figured such a score was impossible. Then I revised that to where I thought it would take years to accomplish.

The best part? This wasn't a low-1900s game. It was a total, utter blowout of every Top 50 game ever played. The trip sum was 1357, higher than average but nothing phenomenal. The non-trip sum, however, was 586, which is unbelievably high. There is practically no point in playing anymore -- quite simply, barring divine intervention, I don't think anyone will ever beat this, including myself.

I was playing for an hour or so, all mediocre games that were ended early, and I said "I'll play one more game, and then I'm gone." -- this was that one more game. What a relief. I can die happily now. It's over.  :-))))

Tom, quibbles about game instructions
[42250] by "Anonymous" (dialup-4.243.194.252.dial1.sanfrancisco1.level3.net)   on Thu 23 Sep 2004 13:28:49     reply ]
Just started playing the game, and it's fun.

The game instructions say that Scribble uses the Official Scrabble Players Dictionsry, version 3, but just in my first days here, I have seen many words accepted that are not in there. Examples: iraq, joyce, nile, ok, tv, ufo, yale. What is the source of these extra words?

The instructions also say that a legal word must consist of two or more letters, but the game also accepts the one-letter words a and i. It should not accept "i" because it is always capitalized (unless you're thinking of letter grades or mathematical symbols, which opens up a new can of worms--shouldn't all letters then be acceptable?).
