Tom or Mike: average game score?

I'm just curious: has anyone ever calculated an average game score for the regular scribble boards? It seems to me that our scores used to be higher: I looked through the archived May 2004 games, for example, and there were more scores of 800-1000+ points, as opposed to what I think I'm seeing now, 600-800 points.

It would be a daunting task to calculate an average with so many games played, but a) I just wondered if I'm right that the scores have gone down in the past year and b) if posted in the instructions, it might give new players an idea of what "high scores" mean.

And as an afterthought, is the most often unused letter the Q?

MSN bot seems to be offering draws in games.. amusing, but somewhat annoying when it locks a game for 120 seconds :-/

came out of retirement for a few days - just to see if i still had it . i honestly thought i have lost it , after playing a few miserable games . but at last i reassured myself with this beauty of a game . all in thx to a little 12 letter word (journalizers) . that was the kicker..........
Search Archives?

I've always thought it'd be cool if one could search the Scribble archives for a piece of text. There have been a number of times where I've had to look at nearly 100 games to find a certain snippet of conversation I wanted to see. Any chance this could be implemented?  Just a text box and a grey button somewhere  ;-)
Question about Scribble games
[48663] by "DJ" (netcache-3003.bay.webtv.net)   on Thu 28 Apr 2005 08:58:09     reply ]
What does it mean when almost all the games are "gray" and can't be accessed and when I click on the other games which aren't gray I get a screen that says "you can't make two words in a row"? Right now I cannot play any of the games. Would appreciate any and all feedback.

Tom: site problem, or webtv?
[48026] by "alpha" (netcache-3004.bay.webtv.net)   on Sun 03 Apr 2005 19:59:23     reply ]
Tom,

All day I've had problems in scribble and muddle -- in scribble, I'll hit enter to place a word and get an error message that the site isn't responding, and nothing I do lets me enter the word (I've tried reload, I've tried waiting a minute then trying to enter the word again, I've tried my back button, I've tried to reenter the main site, just keep getting that error message). I end up having leave the site, wait a few minutes, then reenter on the main page.
I can usually make a few plays, then it starts again.

In muddle, the time is wwaayyy off, sitting on enter for long periods of time, then I get the site not responding message. Once, the site listed my url as level3.net (which is what amber was using at that time - I'm strictly webtv), and often the game will end after what seems to me to be less than a minute (I can usually tell how much time I've used by the number of words I've entered, and how fast), I'll go back to the main page and have a word listed in Recent Cool Words, but not have the results of my game show in the ended games (lower left hand side of the page).

I know it's frequently webtv when I have problems playing, but the muddle game showing me as playing on level3 can't be webtv's fault, can it?

Just wondering is anyone else had problems.
